Sponsor Relation Programme (Vivekananda Child Development Fund) – Sponsorship of children involves support for education for the backward and underprivileged children to help them complete their basic education up to class X level. Benevolent donors contribute to provide this support to one or more needy children. The educational support is also extended to the sponsored children for their higher studies up to graduation/ technical level.
Beneficiaries – Disadvantaged and backward children residing in remote villages of West Bengal.
Support- Educational support has been extended to more than 1500 needy children so far from Pre-primary level to graduation level under Sponsor Relation Programme.
Exemption – Donations are exempt from Income Tax under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
Background of families – The children come from families whose parents are day labourers, small farmers, van rickshaw pullers, masons, carpenter, drivers, small businessman, motor mechanic, gold smith, priest, barber, hawker.
Better quality primary education through parallel primary assistance centers or coaching assistance centers by our trained lady teachers.
Teacher student ratio at our parallel primary centers is 1:15.
Value based education from Formative stage.
Involvement of mothers and village community in programme through awareness generation camps on child education and general health and hygiene awareness.
94% of sponsored children who appeared their Madhaymik (Class X level Board) Examination have successfully passed their exams from 2011 onward.
