Priyam Chakraborty began his journey of education at pre-primary level keeping his first foot step at one of our Early Childhood Education centre located in a village of West Midnapore, West Bengal. He completed his primary education at our parallel primary centre at Pasang village. He was supported for his education from class I to X level, higher secondary level upto graduation level.
Priyam is the youngest son of his parents Sri Swadesh Chakraborty and Smt. Shila Chakraborty. His elder brother Suman Chakraborty is 2 years older than him. His father (graduate) is a private tutor also engaged in part time cultivation for meeting the basic needs of his family. Mother (Higher Secondary passed) is housewife. Both of them struggled hard to see their sons grow up getting proper education.
Priyam was a sincere student at our centre as his scores improved from B grades to A grades in his subjects as he progressed each class. He obtained 85% average marks in Madhyamik Examination (Class X level) in 2013 and 82.4% average marks (Science stream) in Higher Secondary Examination (Class XII level) in 2015. He passed his B.Sc. (Mathematics Honours) Examination in 2018 obtaining 52.2% average marks.
We will know his story through Priyam’s own words:
“I am Priyam Chakraborty. I started my study life in the year 2000 at Pasang Yuba Sangha, Paschim Medinipur affiliated to Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad, Narendrapur when I was only 3 years old. For my family poverty and also for my better results in studies, I got sponsorship from Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad in the year 2002. By this sponsorship, I had received all study materials and coaching facility through VCDF from class I to X. After Madhyamik Examination results, I had been awarded by Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad. In my Higher Secondary course, I got big help from Lokasiksha Parishad. After Higher secondary, I started my degree level in Mathematics honours at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara in 2015. In this graduation level, Lokasiksha Parishad helped me financially which was needed very much for continuing my studies at RKMVC College, Rahara.
For these big help and support, I became a graduate in 2018 and now I am studying B.Ed under WBUTTEPA and taking preparation for Government job exams. I am very much thankful to Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad, Narendrapur and also wish to work for Ramakrishna Mission in future”.
Apan Dinda hails from a village named Parlanka at Purba Medinipur. His father is a mason and mother, a housewife. Both of them could not complete their basic class X level education. So they were very desirous to see both their sons, Bapan Dinda and Apan Dinda(younger one) get proper education.
Apan is presently pursuing 1st year of B.Sc. (Physics Honours) course at a college at East Medinipur, West Bengal.
Apan narrates his story of hope so far.
“I am Apan Dinda residing in a remote village named Parlanka. My father Subhas Chandra Dinda is a mason and mother Minati Rani Dinda is a housewife. I was not getting support for my studies from my parents because of their low level of education. At the age of 3 years, I was admitted to Early Childhood Education centre affiliated to Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad. I enjoyed learning and came to know about Sri Ramakrishna, Sarada Maa and Swami Vivekananda. I was then admitted to formal primary school. Again, when I was in class VIII, I got the opportunity to have sponsorship support from Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad. I was not only provided with books, copies, uniforms, dresses, coaching assistance but received a lot of encouragement and guidance from my teachers.
In the year 2017, I passed my Madhyamik (Class X) Examination securing 89.28% average marks. And this year (2019), I passed my Higher Secondary (Class XII) Examination in Science stream securing 87.8% average marks. It was the whole-hearted support from Ramakrishna Mission that helped me towards my education. Before coming under sponsorship programme, I was unsure as how far I could study. I wish to study more and want to become a scientist”.
Baisakhi Manna was eager towards learning from the very beginning. Teachers observed that the girl had a good memory and was sincere towards studies. Home environment was not so favourable for her studies, but she stood by her will to continue her studies.
Here’s what Baisakhi says:
“I am Baisakhi Manna, daughter of Swapan Kumar Manna and Usharani Manna residing at Ganapatinagar, Purba Medinipur. I am girl of a very needy family. In 2001, I was admitted as a student at Early Childhood Education centre of Royal Friends Society affiliated to Ramakrishna Mission Lokasiksha Parishad, Narendrapur. In 2002, I got sponsorship support for my studies. I got admitted to a local primary school in 2003 and to a formal secondary school in 2007. In 2013, I passed my Madhyamik (Class X level) Examination securing 54.85% average marks and also completed my higher secondary education in Arts stream at the same school obtaining 76.2% average marks in my Higher Secondary Examination, 2015. Then I got admission at Haldia Government college for pursuing B.A. (English Honours) course and passed out in the year 2018 securing 43.5% average marks. Presently, I am studying M.A. in English under Netaji Subhas Open University.
From my childhood, I got all the essentials for my studies such as books, copies, tuition fees etc. from Mission. My study was impossible without the help of Mission. I have not forgotten about behavior, kindness, sympathy and respect towards others which were taught to me by my class teacher and now I am following those in every moment of my life. So, in a nutshell, I fully admire and am obliged to the Mission. The help that I received for my growth and progress in my life is boundless and limitless”.
