Ramakrishna Mission was founded by the great prophet of modern age Swami Vivekananda
Realizing the potential and universalization of the elementary education among the under privileged classes, Lokasiksha Parishad started the supplementary education programme, “Vivekananda Child Development Fund (VCDF)” to provide educational support to the poor, deprived and backward children at pre-primary, primary level to secondary level of education with financial assistance from sponsors. It is a Sponsor Relation Programme and is aimed at securing support of individuals, organizations who contribute according to their might. The programme is part of Vivekananda Child Development Programme and was launched in 2000 by most Revered Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj, the then President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur, Howrah.
The children are identified on survey from the poorest families of remote villages through our Early Childhood Education Centers. The children so slated are put in Parallel Primary Schools run by our trained lady teachers under our direct supervision. After the primary school, the children are admitted in formal secondary schools for secondary level of education up to class-X.
The programme aims to ensure the right to get education of poor and neglected children by mobilizing resources from benevolent donors for their empowerment and upliftment.
For Phase-I, a donor may prefer to donate Rs.40,000/- as one time donation or Rs.5,000/- per year per child till the child reaches Class-X level.
For Phase-II, donation may be made Rs.20,000/- (For Science Stream) or Rs.18,000/- (For Arts/Commerce Stream) at a time or in two installments.
For Phase-III, donation for this stage is Rs.30,000/- at a time or in three installments.
